2020 Mat-Su Fall Festival

Vendor Survey

MATSU Events’ vendor shows are for you.  We’re just here to facilitate, and we want to make sure that future events just continue to get better.  Here is your chance to let us know what worked, what didn’t work, and what changes you would like to see next time.  You can identify yourself or remain anonymous, just don’t hold back.  We would really like to see some constructive suggestions.

  1. Alaska Raceway Park:  This is the first time for an event like this at ARP.  It has the advantage of being an open-air venue in the time of COVID, but there is no escape from the weather.  Would you like to see other similar events at ARP?  If so, something earlier in the summer like June or July?  Or maybe later in the year –September/October, perhaps with an Octoberfest theme?  FYI, if we do future ARP events, we will most likely locate all food, vendors, and activities within the oval racetrack area.
  1. Music and Entertainment: We incorporated a great musical lineup with the Fall Festival.  Unfortunately, the stage and the beer garden were simply located too far from the food and vendor areas, and a lot of the visitors were not able to experience the music.  Let us know if you would you like to see us include music at future events, assuming we can do a better job of integrating it into the event?  Or perhaps other types of entertainment?
  1. All other comments or suggestions. Weather is a huge risk, and we all lucked out this time.  Fortunately, Friday and Saturday were pleasant.  The wind caused some damage Saturday night, and things got a little uncomfortable as the wind picked up Sunday afternoon.  We are all Alaskans and we understand fall weather, but wind, rain, and cold together could have created a disaster.  Do you think it is an acceptable risk to plan an outdoor event like this well in advance without knowing what weather is going to do?  What about carnival rides?  Vendor fees?  Entrance fees?  Pet policy?  Vendor mix?  Vendor booth layout?  Food vendors?  Days and hours of operation?  Advertising and posters?  Social media marketing?  Other shows or events you would like us to organize besides the Fall Festival and the Outdoorsman Show?  Don’t hold back.  Tell us what we should consider to make the next MATSU event a better experience for you and for our visitors!
  1. More vendors usually means more overall enthusiasm and larger visitor crowds, so we’re always looking to attract more quality vendors. Feel free to leave an optional testimonial if you would like for us to include it, with your permission, on our website or other marketing for future MATSU events.  (With your name and company name, or just your initials)
