The Mat-Su Fall Festival weekend will be jam-packed with the best live music that Alaska has to offer!

The stage is located within the oval track area at Alaska Raceway Park.  A huge 3-acre grass seating area allows plenty of room for appropriate social distancing. 

No coolers or outside drinks, please, but feel free to bring in your own lawn chairs, kick back and enjoy fantastic entertainment!

Jerry Wessling and Band

Friday 6:00 – 9:00

Jerry Wessling, has been playing in Alaska for over 10 years with a mix of 80s, 90s, and modern rock.  Jerry and his group bring a new level of crowd interaction and fun to their shows each and every time! Catch classics from Led Zeppelin, Bon Jovi, and Nirvana but also new favorites from The Lumineers and Kings of Leon.

Billy Strain

Saturday 10:00 – 10:45

Lifelong Alaskan Billy Strain is known for his original music, and for his ability to play familiar songs from across the spectrum of popular music. With years of performance under his belt with notable groups Hammajang and 150 Grit, and having shared the stage with Sick Puppies, Billy Strain mixes acoustic, blues, rock and folk as a solo performer. Hear him open our stage on Saturday!

John Cook

Saturday 11:00 – 11:45

John Cook is the preeminent percussive guitarist in the local scene, where he has become a mainstay – and for good reason. His guitar style is filled with flourishes, finger taps, and a finesse that is only eclipsed by his gritty vocal talents and his well-developed songs!

JUNOsmile

Saturday 12:00 – 2:00

JunoSmile, one of Alaska’s best kept secrets, is an Americana singer songwriter combo rich with vocal harmonies featuring Jessy Lynn Martens on fiddle, mandolin and electric guitar with Joseph Martens on acoustic guitar, drums and harmonica.

Arctic Outlaws

Saturday 2:30 – 4:00

Arctic Outlaws is an Anchorage Alaska based country and southern rock band, blending modern country with rock, bluegrass, and some classics.

They are a 5-piece band, sometimes 6, mixing their own tastes from various genres to bring a high energy show each time they play everything from classic country to modern southern rock, and sprinkled with a little hip-hop to catch everyone’s ear.

Rock On Cloggers!

Saturday 4:00 – 4:30

All About Dance is a Big Lake dance studio with something for EVERYBODY in the Family!  They have over 100 enrollments in various dance style and ability including jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, clogging, dance fitness, and Mommy and Me.  All About Dance Cloggers will be performing live at the Mat-Su Fall Festival!

Roland Roberts Band

Saturday 4:30 – 6:00

Good Ol’fashioned head bobbing music, smooth and strong like pouring lighting from a mason jar. Hatcher Pass based songwriter Roland Roberts brings an original mixture of Delta Blues, Texas County and Appalachian Folk that you’ll never forget.

AK Dance

Saturday 6:00 – 6:30

Alaska Dance Promotions is Alaska’s top dance studio for couples’ social dance instruction.  Learning how to dance is always easy and fun! In your very first lesson, you’ll learn the basic elements of the dance and within hours, you’ll be ready to dance! Rooted in the guitar-based classic rock of the 70s and 80s, but with touches of blues and country-rock, Element 47 performs with fun and flair that’ll have you wishing the night would go on forever.

Tamara & the Mr. Fits bring the fun with their upbeat attitude and musical confidence. This trio is made up of Andy Mullen, and Pete Gates – both of whom have deep roots and deserved respect in the local scene – and fronted by Tamara Ashburn-Smith!

Old School Country

Old School Country brings a true honkytonk sound that you might have forgotten, but songs that seem so familiar! Don’t be afraid to dance a bit, and enjoy these classic songs you’re sure to remember!

Walter Jones

Walter Jones is new to the Mat-Su, but he’s not new to the stage! Hailing from Fairbanks, Jones is a recent transplant to the area, bringing a honed and authentic musicianship. This multi-instrumentalist will bring all of his talents to bear at the Mat Su Fall Festival, on Sunday, August 30th.
